Condé Nast award for Granger & Co

posted by Granger and Co on 25/05/2012

On Tuesday, 22 May, Granger & Co picked up a Condé Nast Traveller Design and Innovation Award as it jointly topped the ‘Gourmet’ Best Design and Innovation category with London restaurant The Delaunay. Renowned food lover and chef Loyd Grossman presented Bill with the award at a ceremony at the Marriott Hotel, Grosvenor Square in London, which was hosted by Condé Nast Traveller Editor
Sarah Miller.

Granger & Co had some tough competition: Ceviche (London), Escargot (London),
The French Laundry at Harrods Pop Up Restaurant (London), Geist (Copenhagen),
The Gilbert Scott (London), Les Grandes Tables (de I’lle Seguin, Paris), Maaemo (Oslo), Olinda Tea House (Melbourne, Australia) and L’Opera Restaurant (Paris).

For those of you who haven’t had the chance to visit yet, the restaurant in London is a corner property on Westbourne Grove, Notting Hill. The design by Australian designers Meacham Nockles McQualter benefits from big windows with sunny yellow awnings, extensive use of natural materials such as reclaimed timber, terrazzo and leather, and a light, sophisticated colour palette. The Condé Nast Traveller Design and Innovation Awards are now in their sixth year.

Well done to the Granger & Co team!

Pavlovas at the Palace

posted by on 20/10/2011

The highlight of last week was definitely my trip to Buckingham Palace! In
anticipation of the Queen’s forth coming tour of Australia, myself and a
whole host of other Australians were invited to the Palace for a reception.

I toured the royal kitchens and learnt a thing or two about the logistics
of cooking for the Palace. Then it was on to my masterclass with the Royal
Pastry Chef; on the menu – pavlovas and lamingtons. Watch here

At the movies – Wednesday 5 October

Come along for a great night of food- on your plate and on the screen! I will
be hosting a screening of 'Eat Drink Man Woman' at Refuel at The Soho Hotel
on Wednesday 5th October at 6.30pm.

The film is directed by one of my favourite film directors, Ang Lee, and fuses
my two loves, food and family. It is a romantic comedy set in Taiwan about a
widowed master chef, Chu, and his three daughters. I couldn't help but laugh
at the similarities between my life as a father of three girls and his, and
if I wasn't scared enough already, I am now!

Tickets are £55 and include the screening and a 3 course meal – Book now

My favourites and all the classics have been simplified and given the Bill
makeover to tantalise the tastebuds and fit easily into our busy lives.

This is quick, healthy everyday food with fresh ingredients and zingy
flavours. Available now online and in UK bookstores.
